What’s not to love about a fall destination wedding? The team at Invitations by R Squared is totally in love with the trend of jewel toned colors, plucked-from-the-wild bouquets, and towering and cascading table flowers!
First, let’s look at the color trends for this fall. We’ll be seeing antiqued pastels with intense jewel tones like emerald green, amethyst purple, and rich merlot. The look is quite Victorian in its feeling. The antiqued pastels bring just enough of that special touch of warmth to make your décor truly memorable – and make an especially nice contrast at a romantic destination beach wedding. Trending accents are rose gold, yellow gold and brass. Metallics brighten things up whilst also lending depth to every color palette.
Traditional tiers and topper-less cakes have totally arrived for the fall season. Fondant designs and tons of sugar craft flowers are out. Clean lines and textured surfaces are in, with adornments of real flowers and greenery. The naked cake is still a thing, and a hot one at that. Some bakers have started utilizing a drizzled, flavored glaze on the naked cake, for a really lovely effect. “Cutting the cake” is tradition, but with all of the wonderfully unique options for treats that have come forward in the last several years, we’re seeing cake sizes shrinking, and the number of treats being offered.
Naked cakes continue to be hot, but they’re taken a step further with flavorful drips. As for the size of the wedding cake, we’re seeing it shrink—couples still hold stock in the classic notion of cutting the cake, but they’re mixing things up with fun, unique treat alternatives come dessert time. If you’re opting for a smaller cake, you’ll want to consider other options for dessert. The hottest trend for fall is pie! Just about everyone loves pie, and the flavors of fall are always divine!
Fall destination weddings are about embracing the season, and what better way to do that than with an invitation suite that is as gorgeous as all of you beautiful brides-to-be? Check out our trend-setting offerings right here.
Freshly picked, wild-looking bouquets are still the hottest trend in the land of florals. The hottest blossom? Wine-colored dahlias. For tabletops, arrangements are looking more green and leafy. Succulents, eucalyptus, wheat greens, acacia and bay leaf branches are all super-hot for fall destination weddings. Rather than blooms, pops of color are provided by berries like Brazilian pepper berries, Cayenne berry sprays or raspberries. Small vines of ivy elongate the shape of traditionally arranged bouquets, giving them a magical look, while the unexpected lovelies, like thistles and small leafy twigs, capture the spirit of the outdoors.
Creative food and drink stations are back for Fall 2016. We’re not just talking dessert bars here, we’re talking gourmet coffee stands, craft beer tastings, build-your-own taco bars and even barbeque sauce stations. Wedding decor and attire aside, this is one of the best ways to personalize your reception and share a truly unique experience with your guests. Depending on what type of station is best for your budget, consider hiring an expert to really round out the experience. A barista who knows the ins and outs of coffee beans can recommend brews to your friends and family—similarly, for a cocktail or craft beer bar, a certified mixologist can wow them with bartender tricks. If you are using the services of a destination wedding planner, be sure to discuss the hot fall food trends with him or her well in advance.
