You’re engaged. So fabulous. Now, you need to settle on a Pacific Northwest destination wedding location and a date.
You want to be closer to family, so a far-flung destination is not in the cards, but you do want a beautiful spot to host your special day.
What to do, when confused by so many choices for your destination wedding?
We pulled together this collection of the coolest places in the Pacific Northwest – with a few places that we just couldn’t leave out – for your destination wedding.
Glacier National Park, Montana – You and your destination wedding party can enjoy a magical, memorable experience at Glacier National Park.
You can even host your destination wedding with breathtaking views of the mountains as your backdrop at one of the many top Montana wedding venues. This resort provides a perfect base for exploring beautiful Glacier National Park.
Columbia River Gorge, Oregon – It’s not unusual to hear Columbia Gorge wedding venues described as “breath-snatching,” “jaw-dropping,” and (inevitably) “awesome,” often in the same sentence.
And while these sites–which out-lie as far as beyond Hood River–are obviously not truly in the Rose City, Portland Wedding Venues believes they fall within its psychic radius
Besides…in States such as Oregon, where there may be significant land area but perhaps only one true population center such as Portland, wedding venues from outlying areas must be visible to prospective clients in that population center.
Because of this, we have decided to make this section of the directory a spot for truly Portland-Oregon wedding venues by dedicating it to the various facilities which inhabit the magnificent Northwest passage known as the Columbia Gorge.
The Gorge is named, obviously enough, for the Columbia River which carved this 80+ mile channel over a 12-17-million-year period–with some extensive assistance from the notorious Missoula Floods which did most of the deepest carving around the completion of the last Ice Age.
Along this strip, which forms the border between Washington and Oregon, Columbia Gorge wedding venues ranging from rustic to extremely elegant (and many with elements of both) can be found nestled in a panoramic palette of trees, immense cliffs and rock formations, and over 80 waterfalls (on the Oregon side alone).
Camano Island, Washington – Vows are exchanged on mountainsides and beaches, overlooking yacht basins, in meadows, vineyards and parks, at plush resorts and hotels, all over the Pacific Northwest.
The centerpiece of this 433-acre park on Camano Island’s southwest shore is its restored 1930s fishing resort. Renovation and refurbishing have brought 33 waterfront cabins and outer buildings of this vintage “auto court resort” back to life with modern convenience wrapped in history. Couples from as far away as Japan and France have married here.
Yellowstone Park, Wyoming – Have you always dreamed of getting married in the mountains?
Yellowstone Park might be the perfect place for your destination wedding!
Plan your special day at one of the lodges of East Yellowstone in the Wapiti Valley near Yellowstone Park and Cody, Wyoming. Each of the lodges of East Yellowstone offers unique facilities for your destination wedding in northwestern Wyoming.
Some lodges offer on-site weddings and other lodges can provide lodging for a ceremony at the Wayfarers’ Chapel. Large groups are welcome!
Wayfarers’ Chapel – The Christ Church, in cooperation with the Forest Service, opened the Wayfarers’ Chapel, a summer facility near Yellowstone Park, serving the traveling public as well as Park employees and locals.
The Chapel is located between Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone and is only 8 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
All of these venues are amazingly beautiful, with breathtaking vistas, and everything you need to make your wedding magical and altogether memorable.
