At Invitations by R Squared, we love love, we love weddings, and we’re positively obsessed with wedding trends!
2018 is going to bring us some exciting wedding trends – new ones and the continuation of some of our favorites.
We’re nowhere near Pantone’s Color of the Year announcement, but influencers and style makers are already tossing us a few predictions for the next year. We love color. This year’s Pantone palette was amazing, and we have no doubt that 2018 will bring us more exciting colors than ever before.
Some on-trend palettes that our community of wedding planning professionals are talking about are:
Bronze, Forest Green and Black for your winter wedding!
Winter colors can be more than just red and green. Try this grown-up version with rich bronze, deep forest green and chic black for a formal look that’s anything but Christmas-y.
Rust, Copper and Aqua for your fall wedding
Prevent rust and copper details from looking muddy by mixing in a bright, fresh color like aqua.
Wine, Mauve and Blush for a garden themed wedding
Dress up this feminine color palette with crystal or pearl details, or dress it down with rustic fabrics like burlap and faded handkerchiefs.
Orange, Cream and Steel – perfect for a vintage themed beach destination wedding
Play around with various shades of orange, but keep the look slightly faded to maintain the vintage feel. Use steel accents for contrast.
Lilac, Primrose Yellow and Mauve for a whimsical outdoor garden party wedding.
Soft shades of lilac and primrose yellow add a romantic and whimsical feel to your magical day. Adding a rich and rosy mauve will step up the level of sophistication. Bringing in floral prints and glorious florals will lend the feeling of nature and gardens, no matter where your wedding takes place.
Maroon and Greenery for outdoor weddings, where you want a rich and lush feel for your day.
Deep red and bright, crisp green complement each other naturally, but be careful to avoid an unintentional Christmas theme. Choose one as the dominant hue, and use the other as an accent.
Gray and Sage for earthy eco-conscious and Boho Chic weddings
Pairing mossy green with neutral gray is seriously grown-up and sophisticated. Add touches of silver — in the guys’ ties or the table runners, for example — to give this quiet palette some sparkle.
Chocolate, Mocha and Cream for fall weddings
We love this palette! Deep and rich, this sumptuous trio works in laid-back settings as well as formal affairs, and what it lacks in brightness it makes up for in sophistication. Layering decor elements — a chocolate tablecloth with a mocha runner topped with cream flowers, for example — will bring out the palette’s complexity. Want to add a pop of metallic flair? Think gold.
Turquoise, Moss and Apricot for rustic, farm and Western themed weddings
Turquoise and moss read totally rustic, but apricot adds a splash of vibrancy and interest. Choose an earthy setting at sunset to show off these hues best.
Cantaloupe, Honeydew and Pistachio work well for either summer or fall weddings
This brighter take on the typical fall colors of red, orange and moss green adds instant energy. Choose neutrals thoughtfully — these colors pair better with natural tans and browns than stark black and white.
Midnight, Storm and Vintage Rose are great for bringing an air of sophistication for a more formal Vintage themed wedding
Vintage affairs don’t have to be casual. Amp up the drama with this deep, old-world-inspired combo that’ll look as great on wedding attire as it will in flowers.
Turquoise, Azure and Peach for relaxed and casual outdoor and garden weddings
We love this combo for its fresh, happy vibe and vintage appeal. Keep floral arrangements loose and natural and choose a laid-back look for you and your guy to make this trio look its best.
Mint, Rose and Sand – Perfect for bringing a soft romantic feel to Vintage themed garden weddings
This combo brings out the refined side of vintage style, and we love it so much! Lace accents and formal place settings of polished silver and white dishware will fit right in.
Light Olive, Tangerine and Aubergine for a sophisticated fall wedding in the garden
So rich looking and still on the earthy side, this combo calls for natural decor like piles of pumpkins and squash, wildflower centerpieces and rustic stationery design. Don’t forget to get in touch with us to find out how to seamlessly incorporate your wedding colors into your wedding stationery suite!
Navy, Olive and Peach is the perfect palette for nature themes, rustic and farm weddings, and Boho Chic events
Choose a woodsy venue and you’ll have the advantage of a space that complements this palette perfectly. For your reception, pitch a tent with open sides for a rain plan that doesn’t block the view.
We are in love with all the great color predictions,
